WOW! What an incredible season we have had so far. We have welcomed so many new families into our club and have seen our Nippers and Niplets grow in confidence and ability over the last few months. Our carnivals have been well supported and have given our Nippers a chance to shine and show off their newly learnt skills. We are looking forward to having another full squad of Nippers at the final carnival next year as well as at KZN Champs and at SA Champs.
Last weekend, our club opened its doors to the Children and staff from the Durban Children’s home. It was an opportunity for us to showcase our club and to share the love of our beach with them. Of course, days like that are never successful without a huge contingency of helpful hands behind the scenes. I wish to extend my sincere gratitude to all the Nipper moms who gave of their time on Sunday, bought salads and to those who played elves on Saturday getting the gifts wrapped and ready for Santa. To those parents who donated towards the presents, a massive, massive thank you. A huge special thanks to Leonie Kruger who hit the shops with me (I am the WORST shopper) and managed to get some exciting presents for all the children. Lastly, a massive thank you to Brett, for playing such an important role on Sunday– it is no wonder we have the best Niplet coach ever!
Training for now has come to an end and will resume again in the new year on Sunday 12 January 2020. However, should the coaches start to experience withdrawal, they may just post an adhoc training session on the group chat, so keep your eyes peeled.
Don’t forget to get some stocking stuffers from the office—our new kit has proven to be a huge hit already, so pop in to get yours whilst stocks last.
Lastly, it is common knowledge that at this time of the year, our roads become more dangerous than ever. Please remember to allow extra time for your travel, take regular breaks if driving long distances and stay vigilant at all times. You and your precious cargo are important to us.
Wishing you all a happy and safe holiday period.
See you on the beach
